Welcome to my new video series BackStage Beauty where I reveal my favorite beauty products that deliver every time. Shot in Ulta Beauty’s flagship store in center city Philadelphia, it was my intention to provide the every day woman with my tips and tricks thru demos. Gratefully, Ulta Beauty provides me with the perfect backdrop and products to showcase.
In Episode one thru five I discuss Skin Prep products to prepare your skin for makeup. At the basis of any great application is always Skincare. AS a licensed esthetcian I am an advocate of great skincare as your foundation.
My first pick is Urban Decay’s Vitamin B6 spray. It is a mist of vitamins and minerals for the skin to control oil, redness and give hydration. Its simple to use and packed with great ingredients before and after any skincare regimen and makeup application.
My second pick is LaRoche Posay’s Effaclar SErum which has it all!! I have been using it for quite some time and its accessible over the counter. It tightens pores and reduces lines over time while giving the skin a radiant boost in one shot!! Not many products can do that for its affordable price estimated around $42 depending on the retail store. I use it in the morning with moisturizer and sunscreen but you can also use in the evening as your nightime treatment. A little goes a long way so it will last forever.
My third skin care prep pick is two great eye care products. First is PeterThomasRoths Lasar Free Eye Resurfacing Serum which is action packed with peptides, vitamins and smoothing agents to reduce wrinkles and retexturize the skin. The second is Dermalogica’s intensive eye repair Care cream which helps to brighten the under eye area and protect it while reducing puffiness. For maximum results I prefer to layer a treatment serum first followed by a cream. Your eyes will be sparkly new.
The fourth product in my skin prep routine that I love is Dr. Perricone’s face finishing moisturizer. I have been using this for a long time. The results are amazing. His encapsulated esther C and Salmon oil instantly brighten and heal any skin type.
My last skin prep product that I discovered is Lorac Cosmetics PorFection Face Primer. Its Salicylic Acid base helps prevent breakouts and control oil while its antioxidant blend helps nourish the skin while keeping that foundation in tack.
